Fall Shoe Guide

As you may or may not be aware, shoes are my crack rock.

I would sell my apartment/grandmother/own vagina for a great pair of shoes.

Really.

I know the best designer shit, I know where to find the best knockoffs of them for cheap, and I also know the best websites for online shoe shopping. I can identify the designer of a shoe based on shape and overall design, the way crime experts can identify bodies using dental records. I'm that good.

So let's get down to business, shall we?

When it comes to heels, the taller the better. Taller heel, bigger platform. Even like hooker tall, if at all possible. As long and you can master walking in them without stumbling around like a baby giraffe, go for it. Perfect example:

The YSL Tribute platform. This pump has been around several seasons now, in different colors and finishes, but the same shape and height. It's the perfect shoe. And excitingly enough, Marciano has ripped off the same design but instead of shelling out around $800 for the YSL, this fall you can scoop up the Guess version for- I'm guessing- around $150.

Hardware is still hot- studs, spikes, nuts and bolts, the more the better. There's an edgy vibe out there for fall, get into your best biker-tough boots and leather jackets.

Also, you should have 2 pairs of knee high (or thigh high if you're really daring) leather boots- 1 pair of flat one, and 1 with super tall heels. My favorite boots of all time are this fall's Etro boots:

OH and can we talk about the resurgence of Doc Martins for a minute? WTF dude? I'm SO not ready for all that. The super 90's grunge Doc M's are back with a raging vengence and I, for one, am scared. Please don't try this at home:

Also, the oxford is huge this season. It's showing up in both menswear style flats, and in a newer take- the pump. I found this gorgeous pair- exactly like designer versions- at an online shoe store for stripper wear. Good find, i must admit!

My all-time favorite new shoe is Resort 2009 Chanel, designed by Carl Lagerfeld. I would rock this sexy James Bond shoe for the rest of my life:
